FORGOT YOUR DETAILS?

Last week my wife and I rented a lovely cottage for a week at the side of a beautiful little river in Mid Wales. This lovely but very timid Jay was certainly a challenge to photograph. I was waiting for over an hour to get these shots while he played hide & seek with me.

This lovely Mandarin Duck was a very pleasant surprise on a recent walk around Severn Trents Tittesworth Reservoir in Staffordshire.

In early Spring, especially March/April, Grey Wagtails become much easier to see along various stretches of Cromford Canal in Derbyshire. They can also be seen on the River Derwent from the viaduct on the Cromford Canal at High Peak Junction. If you are lucky Dippers are busy on the river also at this time.

Birding at Calke Abbey & Park in Derbyshire

There is always a good selection of birds to see at Calke Abbey in Derbyshire. My recent visit on January 16th was my 3rd and I was not disappointed. Most of the common birds were showing well from both hides with a couple of unexpected birds turning up, a Water Rail and a Marsh Tit.

Another Small Tortoishell photo added to the Butterfly Gallery. I like the backlighting of this image, it makes its colours really shine through.

New Dragonfly Photo’s

Just added today, 3 new Dragonfly Photo’s taken at Potteric Carr Nature Reserve near Doncaster, South Yorkshire. There are 2 Common Darter Photo’s and a Ruddy Darter. The new photo’s are Common Darter_2, Common Darter_3 and Ruddy Darter and can be found in the Macro Gallery on page 2.
